Roman Scheidl, born in 1949, lives in Vienna and is known as a master of drawing. Often the viewer has to observe the artists work intently, because of the eventful language of using the brush. His versatile and mysterious works seem to have their own rhythm.
The core of the exhibition at the City Museum Bruneck/Brunico contains a series of ink drawings in which Roman Scheidl explores the art of Japanese aesthetics. He especially remains impressed by Hokusai, the unreachable master of Japanese drawing and xylograph art style. His works constitute the initial point of Roman Scheidls artistic paraphrases.
