The exhibition “IN SCENE – A look into a very personal affair” presents a selection of artworks from artists like Broncia Koller, Alfred Kubin, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Oskar Kokoschka, Lovis Corinth, Hans Joachim Breustedt, Arnulf Rainer, Hermann Nitsch, Max Weiler, Markus Prachensky, Günter Damisch, Maria Lassnig, Martha Jungwirth e Helmut Swoboda which document a hundred of years of development of painting in Austria and Germany in all its diversity.

The collector Alois Riedl says: “The question is: why art at the walls, on the floor, in folders, on the ceiling. And all of this in the own house, while there are so much other beautiful things, waiting for affection? To get near the answer, we sometimes lend this pictures. Should after their visitation arise the thought we could have spared it to you and us, then our effort was »for the birds«, what maybe appeals only bird-lovers. Though, if the imagines come back, we believe, they are in good hands, but not to disappear.”
