Foto Challenge

We would like to thank all participants for the 162 unique and creative photographs submitted!

The jury* assessed the photographs according to image content, image message, creativity, idea, documentary value, aesthetic and technical quality, and determined the winners of the competition. They also selected the photographs that will be exhibited in the exhibition at the Civic Museum Bruneck from 17.12.2022 to 14.01.2022.

On the occasion of the 100th birthday of Paul Flora, South Tyrolean, North Tyrolean and Trentinian artists respond to his oeuvre. Works by Patrick Bonato, Katharina Cibulka, Laurina Paperina, Petra Polli, Josef Rainer and Benjamin Zanon are shown in combination with works by Paul Flora from the Museum´s collection.

Throughout his life, Paul Flora commented on the prevailing Zeitgeist with a pointed pen, exploring the languages of caricature, writing and drawing. The invited artists pick up artistic, humorous and discursive aspects of Flora's work and graft them onto their own artistic practice. In dialogue with Flora´s drawings and prints from the Stadtmuseum Bruneck, the newly conceived works were first presented in the Villa Schindler in Telfs and are now shown in Bruneck on the occasion of Flora's 100th birthday.

The City Museum Bruneck-Brunico is the venue and part of the RIPIDO FESTIVAL during the summer months, alongside the Lumen Museum, the Ragen House, the „Alte Turnhalle-Vecchia Palestra” and the Art Cafè Pinta Bichl. This first edition of the RIPIDO Festival is dedicated to illustration and features Italy's best-known illustrators. Organised by the cultural association IL TELAIO and under the artistic direction of Giulia Neri, Federico Cano Correa and Camilla Mineo, this festival, with its exhibitions, lectures, artists' talks and live drawings, offers the opportunity to immerse in the world of illustration.

GIOVANNI RINDLER - Corpora humana

Opening: Friday, March 18th, 7 pm

Duration of the exhibition: 19.03-23-04.2022

Heads, bodies, torsi: in his sculptures and drawings, Giovanni Rindler explores the image of the human, his manifold appearances and movements. The refined interplay of stereometric forms renders the depicted figures light-footed, almost floating, despite their abundant volume.
