The drawing pencil as pointer at good and evil, at the paradox or contradictory in everyday life, at the phoney pride, feigned bourgeois sensibilities and disguised greed.  The index finger points at the society’s plainful area, at its weak point, itsubjects powerful men to public disgrace. Caricaturists are finger-pointers, as well as denunciators.

Max Weiler was born 1910 in Absam near Hall in Tirol (Austria) and died 2001 in Vienna. He is known as one of the most important representative of Austrian art of his generation. Its art works are an independent contribution to the international Modern Art. Essential in his art production is the observation of the nature. The art historian Gottfried Böhm recognizes “the spiritual in the nature” as a formula and center in the oeuvre of Max Weiler: “The pictures of Weiler are about the sovereign power of the nature, in a sensual and artistic manner.”

Norbert C. Kaser - For the 70th birthday

Norbert C. Kaser today is known as one of the most significant voices of German-speaking post-bellum literature. In his lifetime the writer, which died aged 31, was noticed as a doomed existence. Better part of his literary work has been published posthumously. So Kaser retroactive received the recognition that was denied him during lifetime.
