Exception: The museum is closed on 1st November.

The exhibition focuses on selected sculptures and drawings by Bruno Gironcoli, which was one of the main austrian sculptors of the twentieth century, aside Fritz Wotruba. As artist and academic at the Academy of Fine Arts at Vienna he influenced whole generations of artists with his extension of the traditional idea of sculptures. In his work he constantly confronted themes like the human figure, physicalness and sexuality, femininity, birth, torture and suppression. The picture language of the artist complies with the immediate environment of the beholder and integrates in a distinctive manner articles of daily use with cultural symbols.

From 7^th May until 24^th June 2016 a series of events composed of exhibitions, performances and discussion evenings will take place in the City Museum Bruneck/Brunico and in the urban space. Because this format marks the beginning of an annual recurring series the actual title is called: Ways to Museum_01.
